Sanders County Tobacco Prevention Program Mission Statement:

Tobacco use is the single greatest preventable cause of premature death and chronic disease throughout the country. In Montana heart disease and lung cancer remain the leading causes of potential life lost in adults.

The mission of Sanders County Tobacco Prevention Program is to improve the health of Sanders County residents by reducing exposure to secondhand smoke and by reducing tobacco and nicotine use  among all ages and populations. Sanders County Tobacco Prevention efforts have been in existence since June 1999.

Sanders County Tobacco Use Prevention Program has developed its program along evidence based strategies as proposed by the Montana Tobacco Use Prevention Program and the Centers For Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) .

This project is funded (in whole or in part) under a Contract with the Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services.
